John 3:16

Thank you for your interest in learning more about John 3:16. Below is some information about this verse.

For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him
should not perish but have eternal life.

Why John 3:16?

It’s About God’s Love for You:
First, you can see in this verse that God loved the world and that includes you, in a very special way. No matter who you are or what you’ve done, God loves you.

It’s About God’s Gift for You:
Next, you can see that he gave something very special, his only Son, for you. Jesus, God’s only Son, came from heaven to earth so that you can have a special gift.

It’s About You Receiving God’s Gift:
You can receive this gift by repenting of your sin—turning from the sin in your life—and believing—putting your trust—in Jesus. This is the reason God sent his only Son to earth, so that you might receive the greatest gift ever given. Jesus was born for you, died for you, and on the third day rose again so you can have eternal life.

It’s About Eternal Life:
The gift that God offers you through his Son is eternal life—that is life forever with God. Those who refuse to accept this wonderful gift are perishing—separated from God forever.

But That’s Not God’s Desire.

God loves you very much.

He gave you a very special gift. His desire is for you to receive that gift so that you can have eternal life. Would you consider accepting the gift of eternal life today?

“because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” – Romans 10:9-10

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” – Roman 10:13

A Prayer of Salvation:

Dear God,
I know that I’m a sinner.
I repent of my sin, and I ask for your forgiveness.
I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son.
I believe that He died for my sin and that You raised Him to life.
I trust Him as my Savior and want to follow Him as Lord, from this day forward.
Help me to live a life that is pleasing to You.

I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
